Hey, Buddy, can you walk with me at the 14th Annual Buddy Walk? It’s November 8, 2014 at Minute Maid Park. Registration is free. Donations are welcome. The Buddy Walk is one of my favorite events since Im surrounded by folks who love and support me. More important is the money raised at the Buddy Walk funds the programs that the Down Syndrome Association of Houston has for its members from birth to age 99. In the last year, I have participated in several Special Olympics events with the DSAH’s sponsored team – The Panther Pack – and even brought home a silver medal. My mom and dad are either taking me somewhere or teaching others what we know about Down syndrome. Can you make it this year? Registration is free. Donations are welcome. Nathan Gaddis The Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk in which anyone can participate without special training. Hundreds of thousands of people walk from coast to coast and around the world each year. The goal of the Buddy Walk is three-fold: to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome; to raise the funds necessary to develop innovative and effective programs; and to enhance the position of the Down syndrome community, enabling us to positively influence local and national policy and practice.
