Hey Everybody! Ancalagon here. I realise that not everyone who likes the page may have read the Silmarillion, and so over the next few weeks, we admins are going to give you quick bios of the characters whose name we chose. Im kicking it off with Ancalagon the Black, the most powerful Dragon that ever lived. Ancalagon was spawned by Glaurung, father of dragons, in the first age, as part of Morgoths attempt to wipe out elves and humans from middle-earth. He is referenced in the Lord of the Rings briefly by Gandalf, who says even the fire of Ancalagon the Black was not enough to destroy the one ring. Ancalagon was defeated and destroyed by Earendil, and the towers of Thangorodrim were destroyed in his ruin.
