Islam Moors. Beware of the inconstancy of those around you! In walking our paths, we must be ever mindful of inconstancy and wavering in our own actions. As Moslems, staying immutable is one of our greatest challenges. Trying not to get to high in good times, or get to down in bad times. This is how one remains immutable and becomes great. We must also be ever cognizant of those around us whose lives are inconstant. Misery loves company is sort of cliche, but some cliches, will never get old or die. Our lessons (Ch. 41 INCONSTANCY) teach us (using the Standard English Version): 19. Who will say of the chameleon: He is black, when in the next moment after, the greenery of the grass, spreads over him? 20. Who will say of the inconstant: He is joyful, when his next breath will be spent in sighing? 21. What is the life of such a man, but the phantom of a dream? In the morning he rises happy, at noon he is on the rack; this hour he is a god, the next below a worm; one moment he laughs, the next he cries; now he wills things, in the next instance he wills nothing, and in another instance, he does not know whether he wills a thing or not. 22. Ease nor pain have fixed themselves on him; neither has he grown greater, or become less; he neither has a cause for his laughter, or reason for his sorrow; therefore none of them shall abide with him. 23. The happiness of the inconstant is as a palace built on the surface of the sand; the blowing of the wind blows away its foundation; so why would you wonder when it falls? ---------------------------------------- In this, we must be careful in our growth as to not let those in our immediate circles infect us with their inconstancy. Everyday we are learning life lessons and the greatest of humans is to be immutable. Peace Grand Sheik
