Hey Everyone, this Ad is a tad long but Im excited to share my idea of Stick-it....Bike Fuel Sleeves for endurance rides & racing. I am a lover of Triathlons and Sewing. So, in preparation for my first 70.3 endurance race, and trying to figure out what to do for my nutrition for 6 hours, I decided to combine my two loves. Thus, the Stick-it Fuel Sleeve idea was born. Why Stick-it Fuel Sleeves? Because sometimes your cycling jersey back pockets are just not big enough to put all your goods in. Or, if you are in a Triathlon race, do you really want to take the time to stuff all your nutrition in your pockets during T1? With your fuel sleeve, your bike is loaded and already waiting for you in transition. How to Use Stick-it’s: Simply fasten (Velcro adjustable) your Full or Half Length sleeve to the top tube of your bike (you could even attach a sleeve to the down tube or seat tube if the frame allows). Make sure the sleeve is fairly snug. Next, secure your sticky-back Velcro tabs to any nutrition fuel item of your choice. One Velcro tab will hold most Gels, Bloks, Bars, Gum, Waffles, etc. You could even stick a banana or sandwich to your fuel sleeve if you really wanted, just use additional Velcro tabs to hold in place. I just did a long ride with a banana stuck to my Stick-it sleeve, and it held right in place until I was ready to eat it. Need Velcro Tab Refills? If you can manage to stuff wrappers in your pockets or hang on to them during your ride, you can even reuse the Velcro tabs for another round if they are in good shape and still sticky. You can also purchase sticky back Velcro on-line or in any craft store (just make sure you get the “hook” Velcro counterpart). You can also buy additional sleeves and Velcro refill packs in my Etsy shop in sets of 20. With your first sleeve purchase, included with be some Velcro tabs to get started. Full Length vs. Half Length Sleeves: There are two sizes of sleeves available in my Etsy Shop. Full Length is $10.00 and is about 10 inches long and can hold about 5-8 fuel items. The Half Length is $5.00 and is about 6 inches long and can hold about 3-5 fuel items. I sew with only quality materials and with care.
