Hey Guys, I am in need of game design advice :) Im working on a 4x tile based, event card enhanced game on the New World (Old theme I know but I like it :)) and I have a few questions. 1) For exploration, what would be more satisfying as a player; having all the tiles (11x11 grid) face down and you flip and rotate them into the position you desire or an eclipse type of exploration where you draw from a pile and place them where you want? 2) Im kinda stuck on Vps. My original idea was to have 4 Event Cards that represent the peace treaties that ended the 4 big colonial wars. When those cards are drawn, Peace is declared, there is a 4 turn truce, and vps are assigned based on settlements controlled, and Indian tribes influenced. So this would be a cumulative victory point gain as the game goes on. My other idea is that since there will be a finite number of settlement spaces (50) and tribes represented (8), that the vps are kinda fixed in this range and the players battle over them throughout the game. Which would you prefer or do you have other suggestions? 3) and finally a PC question .. . The term Indian. In Canada we use Native or first nations and Indian is slightly derogatory and just not used. In Colonial history Indian is used quite commonly and it seems that its still in use in the States. Is this ok to use Indian for the event cards and in reference to the tribes in the game? Thanks in advance :)
