Hey Guys! I was hoping some of you would share this. You all know others in the Omaha area- and they may have seen this... Thanks in advance. Last night around 8:15 pm I was in a car accident on my home from work. I was driving in the far left lane (in my green Nissan Sentra) on Highway 75 south/ JFK, right after the L street exit (before Q street). I looked to my right and saw a dark minivan changing lanes towards me. He came over two lanes and kept coming, when I realized he wasnt going to stop. He hit me and my car went to the left (right towards the cement wall), so I turned my wheel right, as quick as I could and ended up spinning right back into the minivan. After that, my car was thrown into the oncoming traffic. I somehow ended up on the right side of the shoulder bank (in the grass), and then was taken by ambulance back to where I work- at The Nebraska Medical Center. No witnesses stopped or called anything in. The police officers who showed up to the scene and interviewed the guy that hit me, came to the ER to get my side of the story. I came to find out that the owner of the minivan who hit me, lied to the police and said that I hit HIM FIRST!! I am astounded by how dishonest people can be. I was heading home, going the speed limit, and had spent the last three days working 13 hour shifts- where I work to HELP people. It makes me rethink being in a profession (Im a Registered Nurse) where my main job is to help others in need, yet I get screwed over by such a dishonest person- who was just trying to save himself from getting a ticket. The police officers said that the only way that they could support my side and determine that I was actually struck first, is if anyone who saw it reports it. Since nobody stopped, there arent any outside witnesses yet. I am praying that someone will come forward and bring my family and I some justice. ***Please Please Please share this on your pages, so that this post might reach somebody who saw the accident, and it might help them come forward and set the story straight.
