Weekend weather is good: cloudy today, but sunny tomorrow on, with 50-ish high temperatures. This morning, a soul-gladdening Bach chorus from Cantata 180, something French-y from the 4th Orchestral Suite, and something English-y from the 1st English Suite for keyboard. Also, Rostropovich plays Tchaikovsky on cello, Beethovens Fidelio Overture, a suite of Elmer Bernsteins music from To Kill a Mockingbird, and Joan Sutherland proposes a toast. Murray Perahia is an essential Bach artist, as far as were concerned. Well bring you a Perahia Bach concerto between 10 and 11 A.M., Our all-request hour at noon features Bach and Offenbach.
