Hey Zane....Im 23 and I have self esteem issues. In 2011 I got burnt with an iron I have a brain aneurysm and I seizure disorder. I was ironing my clothes one day and I burnt my whole left side of my cheek and under my chin I had 3rd degree burn I burn a part of my arm and a piece of my neck after that I went through a depression stage. I didnt want to go anywhere and I just thought I was ugly but my fiance stay with me. I thought he just stay with me because I was having his son but I was okay with that because I had somebody to love me.Last year in may he passed away. I got back to my depression stage again because I had nobody there for me but this guy I met around the time my fiance passed away treat me like Im the most beautiful person ever. I didnt see it we have been talking and he asked me to be his girlfriend and I always ask him why you want to be with a girl like me look at my face. So last week I called him and he said he didnt want to be with me. Until I stop talking down on myself but I dont know how thats how I feel about myself. I dont know what to do. I really like him I want to be with him. I just dont know how to do what he ask me to do can you help me? MY RESPONSE: I want you to forward him the email you sent me and my response. Let that man love you the way he wants to love you. He is a keeper. He is not shallow or worried about imperfections. He sees the true beauty in you and you need to realize that what counts is what is inside. Your fiance stayed with you because he loved you. Do not block your blessings out of fear. As long as he feels you are good enough for him, that is all that matters. Go out among the masses and hold your head up high. If you need to, call the local hospital and ask for support groups for burn victims. That is one of the most painful experiences to live through but you did it. This new man only wants you to stop the negativity and embrace the positivity that he wants to bring into your life. Dont let that man get away. He is a very special man. Now you have to tell yourself that you are special enough to be with him and I say you are. Good luck. Love you!
