Hey all! Ben went through to surgery at 1pm on Friday and was in there until 5pm, it took a bit longer than expected due to the size of the incision and the operation being very fiddly. He went through recovery and woke up quite quickly but went up to the ward at around 7pm where we were waiting for him! He was doing well, very groggy but positive. At the moment he has an air leak which is causing some issues, air is getting in around the drainage tubes and causing them to bubble. Also his lung is not fully expanding when he takes a breath. They have tried to add stitches but it has not made a difference yet so we are praying for this to resolve itself, once it does he can have the tubes (very uncomfortable and sore) from his side removed and then the wound can be closed. It will be all good from there with recovery and he will be able to cope a lot better. He will still have pain but we are praying for that to be minimal!! Thank you guys all so much for your support and prayers through this time, it is overwhelming to think we have people all over the world praying for us and we love you guys!!
