Hey all fellow therapists, this question/concern is for therapists - TopicsExpress

Hey all fellow therapists, this question/concern is for therapists only. I have a situation on where i work, sounds typical but this is odd in our field for myself to fathom. A co worker of mine that used to be a lead and do a lot of hiring got a bad taste in there mouth because i was presented the chance to hold an interview and hired the person based solely off there experience and skill in the practical. This person i hired was tattooed, bearded and kinda rough around the edges visually wise but performed profoundly and they are exactly what my studio needs and wants. My co worker was upset because the person i hired does not fit a therapists look, they said i would never hire someone if there appearance is not of that of a therapist. So if theyre fat, tattooed, pierced, or just seem creepy they will not be hired. I understand it is a business and might draw away clientele but in my humble honest opinion, if you are a great therapist and know your stuff, your appearance should not and would not affect the outcome of the massage. Please feel free to give me your thoughts. Thank you.
