Hey everyone! I am up here in Portland and loving the time with my family. We are so comfortable and very grateful for the support we are receiving continually from all of you. My dad would like to update you all so Ill let him take over. We have made the transition from the hospital to a very nice, and very generously donated, apartment in the heart of the Pearl District in Portland. The transition was welcome but not without bumps. Leaving behind the team from Doernbechers leaves us with everything to do. Night time still a challenge for all. Sarah has been with us the last 2 nights. That has helped to provide a sense of connection which we were missing. Feels like this is early in this process. We are recognizing that no matter the amount of support we have(and we have many) it is exhausting and difficult every day. While we were in the oncology unit at Doernbecher we were privileged to meet several families. Two little boys there touched us deeply and we request(with the permission of their parents) that they be included in whatever process you use to support Olivia. Ari will be having brain surgery to remove tumors, then he and his family will have to travel out of state to receive specialized radiation. Zev, is here for a bone marrow transplant. Both of these boys and their parents are sharing this journey with us and with all the souls who have experienced this path before us and those who will do so after us. We deeply value all of the support and kind attentions we have received. It is humbling and uplifting. Visiting will continue to be day by day and require communication. As Olivias counts drop(as they are supposed to do) it will create even more limited opportunities for visits. We look forward to the arrival of Granny and Poppy this Tuesday.
