Hey everyone; I do have an update on the pending surgeries for my OM. I will be having the surgery at Duke Eye Center on Wednesday August 13th to have radioactive plaque therapy. They are going to sew a gold disk about the size of a bottle cap directly to my eye which will contain radioactive seeds to attack the tumor in my eye. I will then be a guest at Duke University Medical Center in the North Tower in the 6300 section until Monday. I will be able to have visitors during my stay. I will be radioactive so there will be some restrictions on how close you can get to me and how long you can stay in the room. Also, no young children or those with weak bone (what I know so far.) On Monday August 18th I will have a second surgery to remove the plaque. If everything goes well I will be discharged to go home. This is just the first steps of whats likely to be an unwanted journey. I will let everyone know what else happens...
