Hey everyone, I just wanted to share with you all of the toys that went to the BPL as a result of the Toy Drive. I wanted to thank those of you that donated and helped spread the word, specifically the Bridgewater Masonic Lodge. We were able to provide the library with an ample amount of legos, wooden puzzles, blocks, mega-blocks, play food, and other miscellaneous toys. There are a lot of great things on the horizon for the childrens portion of the public library including the start of the lego club. Here is an excerpt from Elizabeth Marcus, director of the library, regarding the lego club and everything the library staff has been working on to add to the library. If you havent yet...go check it out!!! Elizabeth Marcus wrote, We bought some new play tables: a wooden train table, Duplo table (though it’s not out yet because we are waiting for the Duplos delivery to arrive), a train to play on, and a magnetic sand table. We’ve ordered Duplos and Legos. The Duplos will be out on the floor for everyone to use. Legos will be in bins and we’ll have to figure out how to make them available to the older children. We have contracted with Bricks 4 Kidz to help us start a Legos Club. There will be sessions on the first two Saturdays of each month for school age children and a second one for teens. If the younger age one is popular, we can split it into K-3 and 4-6 grades. We’ll be doing the first session on Saturday, November 1, then 11/8. Then December 6 and 13th. Then we’ll assess the popularity and see if we should continue. Thanks again, Alysha
