Hey everyone, I want to get some discussion going before this weekend about the ruleset well be using for Smash 4. What I have decided (but feel free to discuss/debate still!) so far is as follows, in a condensed format: --- Basic Ruleset - 3 Stock - Items/Pause off - Team attack on & Share stock allowed - Custom Moves ARE allowed - Custom *Equipment* are NOT allowed. Anyone found using a piece of custom equipment will receive an instant match-loss. - Time Outs are determined by Stocks then Percent, same as ever. Similarly, Daves Stupid Rule (cant return to a stage you won on) and the Gentlemans Rule (if all agree, can go to whatever stage) are implemented. - Any freezes/things that stop the game are still a match loss, as it is the players responsibility to know what causes that with their character. --- Things I have yet to decide on fully are: - Time limit; 6 or 8 minutes? - How Lag/Disconnects should be dealt with (how to determine whether it was intentional) - What stages are legal, and where. --- Stage stuff: Im currently thinking that these will be the starters; any objections? Remember, Starters dont have to not move, they have to not cause degenerate gameplay (make one strategy ((such as Sonic on Hyrule: get one hit that time out)) extremely good, or lower the skill ceiling) - Battlefield - Final Destination (All Omega Form Stages count as FD alt skins) - Yoshis Island [Brawl] - Arena Ferox (Probably?) - Prism Tower (Probably?) --- Likely Counterpick stages: - Tortimer Island (Depends on how much the semirandom stage design influences the match + the Shark) - Brinstar - Jungle Japes - Mute City - Reset Bomb Forest (Fish is non-intrusive and non-random, and odd platform arrangement != grounds for banning a stage) - Distant Planet --- Debatable Counterpick stages: - Spirit Tracks (Ample warning on bomb trains, all floors are pass-through so no caves of life) So what do you guys think, and what do you think needs changed?
