Hey family. Yesterday Pastor E Dewey Smith preached an amazing word at the Potters house. Thank God it was absolutely what I needed. I dont remember the exact title but the gist of his sermon was how do we cope when God is odd towards us. Im not sure about you but this was a fitting message for me to hear on the last Sunday 2013. This was an extremely odd scratch my head type of year for me. God oddness can often times leave you feeling like your dangling in the wind. His oddness will make you look ridiculous to others, and if you like me your humanity kicks in and you try to fix it, and then thats a mess. Pastor Smith then quoted that its Ok to question God just, dont question his existence. Sometimes my question is Lord why are you silent when You know I need You? Lord you know Im probably going to mess this thing up yet Hes stays silent. Have you ever felt like that? One thing Ive learned is to trust Him when I cant hear Him. Trust Him through pain and tears, through confusion and loss, through storms and trials, through fear and turmoil. He often hides the details of your situation from others and it seems like theres no language you can come up with to explain, still trust Him. Patients… The ability to remain the same while you wait, takes a lot of trust to believe the Lord is up to something. Thank you Pastor Smith for reminding me that my current condition does not change His position in my heart. Hes great and greatly to be praised, Hes worthy of all honor and glory. Keep this in mind family in 2014, God is only odd because we dont know or understand His ways, Hes too much for us to figure out. But Ive learned no matter how it looks or how I look to others or how it feels, I gotta trust Him. Family Hes up to something good on our/your behalf. Happy Dec 30th 2013 Love always f.
