Hey gang! Im really touched that Kathleen Miller would offer to host the shower and that so many people (some that I wish I knew better than I do) have responded. Im really looking forward to just hanging out with everyone!! In terms of a wish-list, Im kind of at a loss. I dont know what I need and I feel awkward asking for anything...I know Jennifer Dane has offered us some goods ( I dont have the list in front of me but there was a tub and play mat and bouncer, I think??) and Kali Robins and Jerri Marie Bradburn have been quite generous with hand-me-downs. We have an infant car seat, a few sleepers/outfits, a crib and a rocking chair, and an ergo carrier (though I think well need an infant insert for the carrier). Theres a post on my Facebook page with a ton of items that other parents found useful. After reading the list I see we need a pee pad for the crib mattress and sheets; well need feeding related stuff (bottles, sterilizers, pump, etc); washing items; some toys... One book I would like is a sign language book. We taught sign language to my sister and cousins and found they tantrumed way less because they had a way to be understood. I just cant remember much beyond what do you want bottle grapes and I love you. We are VERY open to hand-me-downs! ...And to handmade! I was actually thinking, because we dont have a mobile, and all of you are so talented, maybe we could assemble a mobile out of handmade or up/re-cycled items? Everyone could bring a small trinket and we could assemble it together? Dont feel pressured to bring anything though! I feel so lucky just knowing I have some support in a town I really havent lived in for long! Looking forward to seeing everyone!
