Hey guys, I had a weird incident with a hacker last night. Still dont quite know what was going on, but in case this happens to you. I got like 471 emails from the same email address with slightly different subject lines. Randomly in the middle of all those messages, there was an email that my Ebay password had been changed. I had to call Ebay and get the account back into my name with a new password, changed passwords on email, facebook, amazon, etc. anything I could think of. I got one more string of 400+ emails (this time from another email address, but the same one for all 400+ emails with slightly different subject lines). couldnt get back into Gmail, so I did the thing where you have them text you a code to your phone to reset the password. I think that was what allowed me to re-secure the gmail. It was the weirdest most annoying hour of pain in the arse stuff. I made all my passwords different (which I loathe since I can rarely remember just one) and will be looking into some programs like 1password to see if this can be avoided in the future. Just wanted to tell my experience in case you are unlucky too. I still have no clue why it would behoove a hacker to send 400+ emails to someone, unless they thought I wouldnt see the your ebay password has been changed email as I mass deleted all the junk?? Sigh. No idea. Just a heads up.
