Saturday, January 10, 2015 LOVE IS PATIENT AND KNOWS NO HATE The lady who schedules all our Sunday readings in the Anglican Parish of Shediac has usually gotten me to read this one. I frankly read horribly from the Old Testament and when scheduled to do so, I get Becky to read for me. However, this one, I must always read. One time when life was really hard, my priest picked me up from a treatment and I did not have any allergies in his car. Man of God. Then when we went to church on the Sunday, this young pastor from Jamaica looked at me and said something I will never forget. Martha, do not wear. Your God loves you far too much. He will put you through fire, burn you and get you out shining like gold? I was quite the eye opener. Cayo White is too wise for his age. However, my priest at that time, Richard McConnel knew that if I stayed away from church, I would lose my life. He is retired now but knows he saved my life. I have not been to our church in a while. So many things happened in 2013 and 2014 that really shook my faith. I had no idea that Christians could hate with so much passion. I frankly had been raised in love and seeing so many Christians hating people, it was totally bombastic. Who gave them the right to hate so much? Mind you, same things have happened to the Moslems. All the extremists are turning away the people who want to belong. How can you hate so passionately and advocate for hate of innocents when neither of the teachers said it is okay? I think we need to revist RELIGION. Something has gone wrong. Our children and grand children have to live with this HATE. Do you not want them to be happy and enjoy life? ----------------------- 1 Corinthians 13:4-8New International Version (NIV) 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. ---------------------- https://youtube/watch?v=5JkKcwiNMG0 Martha Leah Zesaguli (Nangalama) Canada Born and Raised in Uganda
