They are definitely title favorites this season in my eyes. They have managed to bring in some key players such as Pisculichi, while maintain core players such as Kranevitter, Martinez, Ferreyra and Ponzio. They have a striker who is en fuego right now in Gutierrez. The Colombian has scored four goals in his last three matches. They looked scary good against a decent Godoy Cruz side that seldom gets throttled. River Plate managed to win 4-0 away from home so you know they are in form heading into todays encounter. Defensa y Justicia are a newly promoted side. That’s not generally a problem in Argentina as there is not a massive quality gap between the top two divisions. However, where I see a major issue for Defensa y Justicia is in playing styles. River Plate play attractive soccer. They much prefer to attack and take the game to their opponents. Defensa y Justicia attempt to play a similar style, and that will result in them getting beaten here today. They are going to leave too many holes for the home team to exploit.
