Hey guys. If you’re my real friend you know me and you know you haven’t done these things to me. If you don’t know me please read this, because this program is life changing. I’m Darren Reible, and I previously attended Waupun Area jr/sr High School in 2012. I am currently attending the Wisconsin National Guard Challenge Academy. Before I came here I hardly ever made it to school, I hung out with people who leached on and made my life worse. I was always telling my self and others that I would go to school get good grades and stop hanging out with those people, but I always gave up on myself and everyone else. I could never find the motivation to get my life on track. One day my mom came up to me with a brochure about the Challenge Academy. I read it and I decided it was time for me to make a change for the better. While I have been attending the Challenge Academy, I have learned how to respect myself and others around me. Being here I have learned how to manage all my time in a way that I can accomplish almost anything I put my mind to. Before I learned this I thought my dreams were just dreams and that I could never make them real. Now I have the discipline to and commitment to make them come true and to succeed in anything else I put my mind to. The Challenge Academy has helped me become someone I thought I would never be. Now I am able to trust myself, stay away from negative people and be confident even when things seem hard. At the Challenge Academy we make a P-RAP plan which is my Post Residential Action Plan. I set goals for my future, so I am able to figure out steps I need to take to make my goals happen. One of my goals is to get an apprenticeship in hair styling. I also would like to enlist in the Air Force for Special Security Forces and Law Enforcement. Because of this program I have earned my High School Diploma and my HSED(High School Equivalency Diploma). Had I not come here I have no idea what I would be doing with my life besides the life threatening lifestyle I was leading.
