Hey guys, many of the Monarchy went up north today to visit Sunfire Valley. It was really fun to see our friends up there, who are working really hard to get their park up to numbers. If you are not in their group, here is there post about it. Our own feast will be, as many of you know, in two weeks at the start of February. It will be a party type thing at the park, and hopefully will be fun and games. Then at the end of the month their will be a joint event celebrating the mutual coronation of all three of the southern amtgard chapters. We havent talked a lot about this, so I thought I would post a bit about it here and now. Eventually we hope we will be a principality, and then a kingdom in our own right. This will make sense for us because it will allow us to give awards, make our own capora and otherwise do what we mostly do now anyway, which is take care of things that need to be done, but no longer will we have to send away to far off lands to recognize the good works of people in our own land. In order to achieve this though we have to grow. We literally cant be the kingdom of siar geata, with a land of 1. The way we will get principality, and then one day kingdom status, is by doing so with the required two other parks. Which gives us two choices. We can grudgingly accept a place with a few other parks who we hardly know, and will have to fight tooth and nail other things with, or we can reach out our hand and start having good relations now, when they need us. Their small parks, just starting out, ready to be shown friendship and ready to be mentored if we choose to step up and do so. Or we can treat them as strangers, ignore them, and then act offended when they treat us that way back. I, and the other members of the monarchy would preffer to keep on doing what weve done for years, the thing that makes us special. Getting along with everyone, working to show that every member of our park is valued, be they color, stick jock or flurb. For this reason I ask you to please come help us extend our hand of friendship to our neighboring chapters, show them that even though they may be smaller than us in numbers, they can be great, because we have their back. This feast is our chance, it will set the mood for how we intend to be as a kingdom. Do we intend to make every member important or do we feel that only the members of our clique are worth our time. Will we be like many lands that squable over power and self interest, or can we be better than that? I believe in this group, I believe that we will make the most kick ass asome kingdom that amtgard has ever heard of, but the time is now. If you need help getting there, let us know. This is a full garb event. There will be battle games, food, drink, and most importantly a chance to get to know the people we are banking on starting a kingdom with. I hope to see you there.
