Hey hey everybody - we hope youre all excited for Australia Day! Weve got a whole heap of stuff of going on here at The Newington, including a workshop courtesy of Beer Creative! Theyve brewed a very special beer of day Pemul Rye Porter, a dark, chocolatey and smokey Rye Porter named after Pemulwuy, an Aboriginal Australian man born around 1750 in the area of Botany Bay. Pemulwuy was noted for his resistance to the European settlement of Australia which began with the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788 - hes a bit of a hero! Beer Creative will also be brewing an Australian Ale with Australian Bush Botanicals on the day, celebrating the diversity of Australia to its fullest!
