Heyo, its been a real long time since Ive posted any manga recommendations, so heres an oldie. The Drifting Classroom was published way back in 1972 & ran until 74 by Kazuo Umezu. Classified as a horror but its more thriller & psychological than anything else. I can promise that youll be riveted from the get go, wondering how these kids will survive & make it. Just a warning: this isnt a happy story, its nothing like say Cage of Eden, youre not meant to feel good when reading this. Out of nowhere, a Japanese elementary school is transported out of the world they know, and into a nightmarish wasteland. Have they gone to another planet, or is this toxic world actually a vision of Earths future? Soon, the students and teachers must struggle to survive in impossible conditions, besieged by terrifying creatures and beset by madness. Part Lord of the Flies, part post-apocalyptic science fiction, The Drifting Classroom is a classic cant-put-down manga series. (Viz) Btw, cant find it online? Read it on Mangafox.
