Hi A proper crisp Autumn morning for much of the UK & Ireland, - TopicsExpress

Hi A proper crisp Autumn morning for much of the UK & Ireland, and for many it will be a fine, bright day with temperatures of 6-9c. There are some mist and fog patches around, particularly in southern areas which will be slow to clear, and here the temperatures will be cooler before the mist and low cloud breaks up later today. Some showers are already flirting with the west coast of Ireland and a band of rain and showers with a fresh south westerly breeze will slowly pass over Ireland, N Ireland and western Scotland this afternoon and into the evening. The rain and patchy showers will weaken they head south east, stalling over southern Scotland and northern England, keeping it milder here overnight. Away from the cloud and showers itll be another cold night in England and Wales with a hard frost in places, and dense fog patches forming. The frost is likely to lift a little from the south before morning as a slow moving low pressure moves up through France bringing cloud at first and then rain during the late morning to the south west which will very slowly head inland. Ahead of the cloud, fog will be slow to clear for central areas, and could linger into the afternoon over the north east of England so another chilly day on the cards with highs of 8c, but closer to 4 or 5c where the fog is slow to clear. For the north west of England, Scotland, N Ireland and Ireland there will be some light patchy showers around, and a fair amount of cloud cover which will persist through the day with occasional brighter spells. Tomorrow evening will see some clear skies in central areas between the two areas of cloud and patchy showers over southern and northern Britain, so an early frost is possible before the rain from the south becomes more widespread and heads north into Wales, the midlands and East Anglia keeping temperatures around 6-8c for the southern half of England and much of Wales. Ahead of the cloud and rain itll be chillier but by morning, barring a few sheltered areas itll be mainly frost free as the now patchy showers continue to push north through Wednesday. Ian
