Hi All, FYI, for those of you keeping track on Redwall Routes, - TopicsExpress

Hi All, FYI, for those of you keeping track on Redwall Routes, here are two more for the list. I would rate both of these routes as very difficult due to the need for off trail route finding abilities, exposure and hiking on steep loose terrain. Yours, tom 214 Mile Route, River Left A small drainage enters the Colorado River at this point. The route is NE up the drainage ¼ mile to a fork, then N up a side drainage that soon cliffs out at a pour over. Total distance from the river at this point maybe ½ mile. A scree slope enters below the pour over from the east. Go up this scree slope and it turns to the north. Look for ledges leading south away from the scree slope. Follow the ledges south 100 yards, then east and north up to the head of the scree slope. Continue north and you will intersect the drainage you were stopped in by the initial pour over. Follow that drainage as it turns east staying on creek left, following a small nose in the Redwall to gain the top of the Redwall proper. Total distance from the river at this point 1.5 miles Little Bastard Route, 212.5 Left This route connects Little Bastard Rapid to the top of the Redwall at River Mile 212.5. From the rapid, hike up the drainage coming down the steep slope from the east. You will quickly need to bypass a pour over on creek right. Continue up the drainage ¼ mile and you will come to a second pour over, with a sleep boulder choked drainage coming in from the south intersecting the bottom of this pour over. Go up the southerly drainage a few hundred feet and exit creek right into ledges that lead back to the main drainage above the pour over. From here, proceed another ¼ mile up to a scree slope coming in from the north. Go up this scree slope to its top at a small saddle. Exit the saddle to the east up a steep hill to the Redwall top. Total distance from the river at this point 1 mile. The attached photo is looking down the Little Bastard Route.
