Hi All, The Quiet Time verse for today reads: For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat (Hebrews 5:12 KJV). Today’s verse talks about the word of God being milk or meat. Milk is for babes (v. 13). Strong meat is for the mature in the Lord. To be a teacher is a sign of reaching maturity. Teaching belongs to the 5-fold ministry. So the scripture is also saying when it is time that you are to become ministers to others, you still need to be ministered to. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 5:14). Strong meat belongs to certain people; those that are mature in the Lord not because of years but because they have discernment to know between good and evil through applying the word of God. Maturity then is not as high as we make it seem. A maturing child who cannot be weaned off milk and cannot eat meat in time will be malnourished because milk is not enough for growth. Baby Christians who are not encouraged to grow will not be satisfied and eventually die off. Let us seek the meat of the word. Be blessed!
