Hi Everybody, Its always startling to me when I think of anyone else other than me that might be even slightly interested in the research that goes into my Dancing As If Theres No Tomorrow series of books. To date I have compiled over five hundred pages of research pertaining to General Artists Corporation 1959 Winter Dance Party tour between the covers of two self-published volumes. As far as page volume on that single subject I am proud to say that I believe this is something of an odd record. I mention that only because I am proud of this meager accomplishment. Hey, some people have earned their first million by the age of thirty, scaled the highest peaks, or rocketed to international acclaim through some artistic feat. Me? I feel as if I can go to my grave a happy and better man for all of those wonderful people I got to chat with and interview about a tiny rock and roll show they happened to see over fifty four years ago. It takes different strokes to move the world, right? This brings me to the beast that is Dancing As If Theres No Tomorrow Book Three. Originally I had set this month as a release for the new volume (which covers the Surf Ballroom show and the plane crash). To say that I severely underestimated the amount of information and interviews that my research would turn up for these two crucial dates is very much the proverbial understatement! Over one hundred fans who were at the last show were interviewed by this author. I did sixty more interviews with people pertaining to the crash of that 1947 Beechcraft. And you know something insane? I am STILL interviewing and researching! The above is a very good reason as to why I am announcing a later publishing date. On a personal note, this has been a very trying year for me. I have gone through a serious family illness and a difficult divorce. They say that God will never give you more than you can handle at any one time. I believe this to be true and I am sure that all of my bad times will make me stronger and more resolute to hold my head up high and to whistle a happy tune... My release date for the new WDP book is May 2014. Price is tentative and I do not want to commit myself quite yet to a figure that may go higher (or lower...lets think positive, right?). Thank you all for understanding the delay and please know that this will only ensure a carefully pieced together accounting of the final night of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. The Big Bopper Richardson!
