Hi Everyone - Id like to invite you to participate in a photoshoot fundraiser for the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program that I am organizing for Saturday, March 28, from 7:30 - 9:30 AM. The cost is $100 per photographer and the session is limited to 10 photographers. All proceeds go towards the raptor program, which rehabilitates and releases injured or sick raptors from the area, thus helping to preserve an important part of our local wildlife. Volunteer handlers from the raptor program will bring out 4 birds for us to photograph, and will pose them on various perches around the CSU Environmental Learning Center for a natural setting. The birds are tame and can be photographed from a much closer distance than is possible in the wild. Birds that are available for the event include barn owl, peregrine falcon, golden eagle, red morph eastern screech owl, long-eared owl, ferruginous hawk, Swainsons hawk and possibly a bald eagle. Once we have all 10 photographers booked we will vote on which 4 birds we would like to photograph. If you would like to reserve one of the 10 available spots please let me know as soon as possible. I will send you a PayPal invoice and your payment reserves your place for the event. I organized a similar event about 6 years ago, and everyone had a great time and the resulting photos were amazing! Ive attached a few photos from the last event below so you can get an idea of the kind of shots and detail that you can get from photographing these birds up close.
