Hi Everyone, I am helping support homeless and local community in need of our help this year by personally collecting and donating household everyday items at this years homeless connect 2013. Held at Metricon Stadium, Carrara. Every year the event is more successful with numbers of guests increasing, last year over 800 homeless people (or at risk of homelessness) attended, seeking free services and information. In addition to distributing much-needed goods, the event also serves as an important source of information and advice on health care and accommodation options . Homeless Connect is an initiative of the Gold Coast Homelessness Network and is supported by the City of Gold Coast, Queensland Government, Queensland Shelter, StreetSmart, Horizon Housing, 91.7 ABC Gold Coast, the Gold Coast Suns and Gold Coast Community Fund. I am calling for you to help donate everyday items that can be distributed on the day. Toiletries are especially needed. I will be personally coming to collect items from your house if you are willing to donate. I will be picking up items during the week after work at times suitable to you. All you need to do is text me time suitable and address before the 7th August. I will also be accepting goods at my home address 1/29 Peerless Avenue Mermaid Beach. Please if you can spare a little whilst shopping for yourself think about others in need of your love and support during these hard times. Donations needed include: Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste Containers for soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, Wet ones/cleansing wipes Feminine hygiene products, Sunscreen, insect repellent, Face washers, bath towels, Youth, children & baby clothing Shoes/thongs, joggers Children’s socks, underwear (new items), Disposable nappies (all sizes) Tents, Bottled water (600ml bottles) Canned goods (preferably with flip top) - please check use by date Snacks (long life items only) Cleaning products, Blankets, Can openers, cutlery Gift cards (particularly for department stores & supermarkets) Children’s toys, Swags & sleeping bags Please inbox me for more information or if you would like me to come around and collect goods.
