Hi Everyone, Sorry for not writing sooner, but there hasn’t been any real changes with Mom’s knee since my last email. This past Tuesday, August 6, 2013, Mom had another follow-up appointment with Dr. Sampson. Dr. Sampson is the plastic surgeon who did the skin graft on Mom’s knee back in December, and we’ve been having a follow-up with him on the second Tuesday of every month ever since January. Finally this past Tuesday we got the news that we’ve been waiting EIGHT very long months to hear. Dr. Sampson said he will now sign off on Mom’s knee so she can have her leg fused!!! This is the best news we’ve gotten all year, and Mom hasn’t stopped smiling since she got the news. The next step is to have an appointment with Dr. Sampson and Dr. Estok, he’s the orthopedic surgeon in Boston to discuss the type of fusion that will take place and to make an appointment for the surgery. Unfortunately this won’t happen until September, but at least we are beginning to see the end of this very long ordeal with Mom. Sorry about not writing closer to Tuesday, but I’ve been busy getting ready for the Bolton Fair this Saturday and Sunday as this is my third year returning as a vendor. Once again thank you ALL for your prayers and continued support. If it wasn’t for all of you I’m not sure how Mom would have continued to stay so strong and have such a positive attitude.
