Hi, I have a #fanquestion I know there are negative effects to CIO (Crying It Out) - but are there any negative effects to letting a child cry while youre holding them? My LO is in one of his developmental leaps according to The Wonder Weeks app, and he sometimes cries for reasons I cant figure out. The app says its because hes trying to figure out so much, learn about the world, and so on, it gets frustrating for him. On top of that, hes teething! But I always hold him and try to comfort him, though it doesnt always stop his crying. Sometimes its ten minutes, sometimes longer, of major whining all the way up to pissed-off super-emotional wailing... Is this crying still damaging to his emotions or physical body, the same way CIO can be? Does it still cause stress, anxiety, and damage his trust? Or is it different because I am actively comforting him (or trying to)?So frustrating not knowing how to make him happy when hes in these growing stages :/ Thanks for any info!
