Hi, Im new to Judo and just need someone to help me understand the Ranks. Is a White Belt 6th Kyu? If so, what Belt is Novice? My BJA book says I should have some sort of stamp to show promotion to when I achieve 6th Kyu, but if 6th Kyu is a White Belt then surely its not a promotion? How I understand it is: 6th Kyu = White 5th Kyu = Yellow 4th Kyu = Orange 3rd Kyu =Green 2nd Kyu = Blue 1st Kyu = Brown Is this right?
