Hi Mr. Ballew Thank you for taking the time to report your sighting! Im glad that you were in the right place at the right time to see the crane! The birds have been migrating very slowly this year and before the cold front on Saturday only about a dozen of them had passed through. We should be seeing most of the remaining birds during the coming week. Fortunately, they are pretty cold-hardy, but they still will try to move on south before we get enough cold weather to freeze the smaller ponds. Thank you again for reporting your sighting - I greatly appreciate you taking the time to do that. I hope that you have a great week, Mark Mark Howery Wildlife Diversity Biologist Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife Conservation (405) 990-7259 [email protected] On Mon, Nov 10, 2014 at 10:04 AM, Ron Ballew wrote: Sighted one Whooping Crane flying low over my house in Lawton, OK, on Mon, Nov 10, 2014, at 9:30 AM.
