Hi PoC Family, Something kinda cool happened this weekend and I wanted to let you know. Its actually been happening for many months now, but I really saw evidence of it this weekend. Over the past few months, Ive seen our wonderful church family really step up in their care for each other, passion for serving, eagerness to be present on Sundays, etc. We all celebrated a wonderful Vision Sunday together last week and weve been enjoying wonderful days as a church family. Appropriately, many of you have been seeing this and giving the Holy Spirit his due credit by saying, Wow! We are really on to something big here! And yes, I feel it too, and I praise the Lord for the momentum He is stirring up. He is so faithful and good to us. It may seem like nothing much, but the kinda cool thing that happened is that by the time the worship service was over today, I had heard personally from 56 PoCers who called, sent a text, Facebook message or email letting me know that they would not be able to be a church today. Very cool. Yes, your pastor is praising God for absentees. :) Heres the thing Im praising God for: Why let me know? Why make that call? Why text? Why explain at all? Weve never said, Hey, if youre gonna miss church, let us know! But the crazy cool thing is that I truly believe we, as a congregation, are really getting a kick out of being the church, being with the Lord, being with each other, and that even though we all have to miss from time to time, theres a part of us that wishes we didnt have to miss a minute of what God is doing at PoC. Think about that for a second. 56 people who care enough about their church and church family and the mission to say, Hey, I hate to miss this week, but wanted to let you know. Unbelievable! I was talking to the staff and directors today and they couldnt believe it either. Its almost unheard of. So, thank you. Thank you for letting us know. And, you were absolutely missed!! This PoC Family, led by the Lord, is so crazy cool. For those of you who were able to be with us today, it was awesome to see you. I love this church!! Lets lift each other up to the Lord this week: those close to us, surrounding us, and those with needs that are obvious to us. Lets get caught red-handed right in the middle of Gods plans.
