His parents have been frantically searching for a donor for his stem cell replant but to no avail so far. A team of youngsters is conducting a major drive at Kozhikode in Indian state of Kerala on March 21 and 22 in a bid to find a donor for Sachin. The hunt is going on world-wide with the help of Dathri Centres who has voluntarily supported the cause. The drive will conduct DNA tests from prospective donors to find the right match by collecting cheek cells using ear buds, and will be later sent to the US to find out the right match which will take nearly a month. Once the matching cells are identified, the cells will be collected from the donor’s blood for transplantation. The child with less immunity who cannot even withstand common cold or fever is awaiting his savior.
