Hi The Office of HH Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Hope you are - TopicsExpress

Hi The Office of HH Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Hope you are well. Kindly accept our greetings from SECMOL, the Ice Stupa Team and me personally for the festive season of Losar, Christmas and New Year. Many of you know about SECMOLs latest innovation to counter water shortage in Ladakh due to melting glaciers and climate change. After successfully testing prototypes last winter this winter we are building a full scale version to help the people and monastery of Phyang village in greening the 1,000 acre desert using this technique. At our end the Ice Stupa artificial glacier project progresses both in the clouds on the Indiegogo website and on the ground in Phyang village. Work on all fronts is advancing, although we have had some hitches here and there with the PVC pipe supplies from Jammu. The Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign for Ice Stupa Artificial Glaciers closes in 10 more days, we are highly impressed that our friends, supporters and so many unknown generous individuals from around the globe have continuously contributed to bring the total amount to $50,000. Contributions have come from countries ranging from USA, China, India to Brunei, Latvia and Nepal. Till now roughly $ 50,000 (Rs. 31 lakh) have been collected, yet we are still $ 69,000 away from the target. But we are confident that in the next 10 days the remaining amount will also be raised. This is because we know many of our close friends and supporters who haven’t had the time to make their contributions will be doing so in these remaining 10 days. A crowd-funding study says that most contributors do so only after the 6th or 7th reminder email. But I beg to differ with them because sending 7 reminders would amount to spamming. In our case we have decided to send only three emails over two months- One to introduce the campaign and one as a mid-term appeal and then a final gentle reminder at the end. Yes this is that last and final but gentle reminder to you that the campaign closes on the 22st December 2014. By the way meeting the Indiegogo target of $119,500 is also important because for un-met targets Indiegogo deducts much larger platform fee than for met targets. In fact in our case the deduction could be up to $6,000 extra over what they would deduct if we meet the target. Hence this final appeal. But in case for whatever reasons you are not able to contribute this time then please don’t feel bad in any way, just know that you can also contribute in a different way by sharing this email (with perhaps a personal note) with your friends who might be interested in either learning about this project or in making a contribution. You can also share the link below on various social media forums as this raises the project’s status in… what Indiegogo calls the ‘Gogo factor’ which finally leads to wider publicity to the project on their own media. Finally in case you have already contributed, then please consider this as another email to thank you profusely for your timely support but do please share this further among your friends. Here is the Indiegogo link for sharing and for contribution: secmol.us9.list-manage/track/click?u=5d12c60afc065755435f820ed&id=feeaa4bd1c&e=d0116caaa2 Best wishes for a great Losar, Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead. Sonam Wangchuk Although we prefer the Indiegogo channel so we can meet the target, if Indian contributors want to make a payment through Debit Card/NEFT/netbanking, the Phyang monasterys account details are as below: DRIKUNG KAGYU CULTURAL & WELFARE SOCIETY ACCOUNT NO: 10942173149 STATE BANK OF INDIA BRANCH : LEH IFSC Code: SBIN0001365
