Hi all - long post with a few questions - not training related but I need advice - might be more directed to experienced chihuahua owners or other tiny dogs. I have recently acquired a teacup chihauhua - she was handed into my partners pet shop as an unwanted gift with ulcerated corneas and bruises all over her little .4 kilo body. :-( Anyway we got her the vet treatment she needed and fed her up and she is now 1.05 kilos of pure energy and attitude. Lol. Her training is coming along well - lead work is good, will sit and wait and her recall is coming along. All at 17 weeks. However I have no experience of chihauhuas (am raising her like a retriever - daily woodland walks and she comes to My doggie daycare etc and she is doing brilliantly. Her doggie social skills are fantastic) but I have noticed that she is feeling the cold. She shivers at times. Vet said she needed jumpers to keep warm So here are my questions 1) how do I get her to enjoy or at least tolerate wearing them? She hates them and will bite n pull at them till she gets her legs tangled up inside. She also gets the other dogs to help pull them off. (Yes I swear - I have watched it) 2) where is best place to buy these tiny clothes - but I really dont want anything too twee or silly? Everything except ridiculous frilly clothes seem too big for her. Tiny dogs bring a whole new set of challenges but have to say I am absolutely loving her! Thanks in advance.
