Hi all, Im Jeanne and I live in Missouri. :( Can you tell how I feel about that? Lol Im 51 and Ive been living with the effects of a SCI from a botched spinal fusion surgery 5 years ago. Im partially paralyzed and have neuropathy, Cauda Equina Syndrome and Adhesive Arachnoiditis (AA). I was having my surgery when my spinal cord was nicked which resulted in a large blood clot in my spinal cord from neck to lumbar. It compressed the nerves and did significant damage to the Cauda Equina. The other condition, AA, is when scar tissue grows on top of the injured area (in my case the lumbar) squeezing the nerves together in a bunching way causing incredible pain. This condition is progressive and has no cure or very few treatments. The only thing recommended for pain is narcotics or med marijuana. Since it isnt legal in Missouri, Ive not been able to try it to see if it would be effective. Ive heard from a couple of other people that it is very helpful and is integral to their living a happy, pain free life. Im at a loss as to what to do now and am joining as many groups as I can about my conditions and about things like this. Looking forward to getting some information about all of this.
