Hi.all yesterday an historical event occurred at Hula village. This was the launching of first history book Hula: A Social History of a Papua New Guinea village written by late Allan Jones from Adelaide who spent. 35 years in PNG. He. was a pioneer principal of Daumagini, Hula, Karkar ,Cameron and Popondetta High Schools. He is remembered by many of his students as a mentor, father, disciplinary and passionate carer and giver who sponsored so.many. students in their education. including myself. The Hula primary school is now named Allan Jones Memorial Primary School to honor this great man. The books are selling for K90 at UPNG bookshop and half of sales money will be donated to the school. to. develop the school. Library as Allan would have wished as he loves reading and always encourage his students and bought.books all. the time. Hula village celebrated and wished Mr Jones was here to celebrate together. The legacy will leave on... Thankyou Allan..You will always be remembered by this important resource especially the young generations hereafter. With Love.
