Hi classmates! We have received final word -- all - TopicsExpress

Hi classmates! We have received final word -- all contributions to our silver jubilee fund can now be sent to UPMAS in Manila and each donor will be issues an official receipt. You can deduct your contribution as a business expense for advertising and/or CME. Kindly write your checks out to UPMAS and mail them to Len at 100 Grandeur Drive, Brandon MS 39042. He will bring them to Manila end of March. You can also mail your check directly to Carissa/Myrna (mahiyain sila so by letter/mail only) but the chances of pilferage are higher if you mail directly to Manila. I do not recommend wiring because that will incur at least a $50 charge, sayang din yun. Of course if you are traveling to Manila, you can just hand your check to one of our classmates there. Your DOLLARS are acceptable - UPMAS has a dollar account. Per UPMAS, there will be no charge for coursing the donations through UPMAS and 100% will go to whatever we need the monies for, no restrictions. We are looking forward to receiving your checks soon! - Len As you know, the Silver Jubilarians always come up with their yearbook which, hopefully, gets published in time for the UPMAS Ball. For our yearbook, we have come up with the following instructions: 1) Each classmate will have 1 page allotted to him/her. You will have to furnish us (i.e., the Yearbook Committee) with the following: a) write-up: Guide questions will be posted in a separate e-mail (see below) and word count should be between 700-1000 words. Write-up should be about what has happened to you since our 1989 graduation. You can be as creative (ex. poem, haiku) or as straightforward as you want. b) 1989 grad picture: We can get this online as Malu DA posted our yearbook in our website. c) formal photo: Picture should include head until chest area, colored, with a white background. It is best to have the photo taken in a studio so it looks professionally done. The printer required a white background so its easier to manipulate the photos. Ladies should wear a dressy top/blouse while the guys should wear a coat and tie OR barong. d) 7-10 colored photos, whether alone or with family, friends, pets, etc. ---> all photos should be sent electronically so we dont have to scan them ** IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT: All pictures have to be high-resolution, i.e., at least 300 dpi. Low-resolution photos will NOT be used. - Only 5-7 out of the 10 photos will appear on each page as we want to avoid clutter. Number of pictures will depend on the length of the write-up. If its a short write-up, there will be more pictures. A lengthy write-up will eat up space so we can put only 5 photos. All in all, there will be 7-9 photos per page (1989 grad photo, formal shot, 5-7 other pics). e) All classmates without write-ups and photos will be put at the back as blank pages are an eyesore. f) Deadline for submission of write-ups and photos: March 31, 2014. Photos and write-ups may be submitted to any member of the Yearbook Committee: 1. Ros : [email protected] 2. Malu: maludeasis@gmail 3. Chee: upcm89yearbook@gmail 4.
