Hi everyone - Im new to the group, and have some questions on thyroid disease - specifically, how to go about full testing. I have celiac disease, diagnosed 16 months ago, and have been strictly gluten free. The ttg (celiac) blood work is fine now, showing Ive been successfully GF. But Im still fatigued virtually all of the time. I had significant weight gain prior to diagnosis. My body temperature consistently runs low, and has for years (96.8 degrees). I have had several TSH tests, and they are normal, but increasing. March 2012 - 1.89 Feb. 2013 - 2.11 Sept. 2013 - 1.57 April 2014 - 2.9 August 2014 - 3.15 I have had two T4 tests, including one this month, both were 17. Id like to have the full thyroid panel, but have had trouble communicating that to doctors - the last one said I had that, but those were the only two thyroid tests. I have read many people can be normal on TSH, yet still have a thyroid issue. I was just wondering if I am correct in wanting to pursue further tests, given the symptoms. And also - any idea how to convey that to doctors in a manner where they dont dismiss it as being something else? Thank you!
