Hi everyone! Im hoping to get some advice here...I have a little situation Ive been involved with for a few months now and its getting old quick... I have a neighbor that owns this beautiful chocolate lab baby pictured here. Let me back up a bit so you can understand the situation. This couple moved in across the street. Just a guy and his girlfriend. Nice people! I clicked with them immediately and became friends. The girlfriends daughter was about to graduate high school and they thought itd be great to get her a puppy for graduation. Turns out the daughter got a job in PA and stayed there - she only came to visit them a few times and showed no interest in the dog. At the end of this summer, the couple broke up. The girlfriend didnt take her daughters dog with her when she moved out so the guy has been taking care of him the best he can. Ok-- about the guy.. He is a contractor and the jobs he takes are out of state. He asked me a few months ago if I would come over to his house during the day and take care of the dog-- promised me he would pay me. He is a super nice guy and he does love the dog-- hes just NEVER home. He has been home ONE day since xmas... The rest of the time consists of me going to his house, feeding him, letting him out, playing with him...etc.... I love this dog! He is the sweetest, biggest baby... Lately, he is showing signs of separation anxiety... He chews EVERYTHING.. He is bored... Lonely... I feel terrible for him. Before anyone asks - I am a single mom with two kids, 2 dogs and 5 cats of my own... I try my hardest to take care of the big fella the best I can but its just not enough! What do I do?! I dont think the guy is wanting to find another home for him but its just not fair.. This dog deserves to be loved...by a family that can take care of him and play with him like he needs.. Hes very high energy... Im just so frustrated at this point... (Plus, the guy never pays me like he says hes going to lol) Im stuck!!! What do you all think??
