Hi everyone. My good friends Gael, Romain and I will be taking part in the event for the first time. All three of us are regular Ludum Dare participants so that we design (sort of), we code (sort of), we draw (sort of) and we make sounds (s...). Of course some of us are better in a specific discipline :) We dont really know how things will go during the jam but since people are posting ideas here we thought that maybe this could interest some of you. Wed like to turn the computer into a living entity that craves for new devices. Simply put, youll have to plug a bunch of keyboards, mice, webcams, literally anything that can be plugged into a computer, to communicate with it. Each time a new device is plugged in or out the computer will react in some ways and maybe itll have favorite devices (lets find 5 keyboards guys!) or too much noise through the microphone will be unbearable for instance. We could actually use the plugged in controllers in very simple ways like using the webcam to detect that somethings moving in front of it. We would also like if the entity messed with the OS, like opening text editors, writing stuff, changing the background, etc. This is as far as our concept goes but we think it has some potential :) As you can imagine were pretty excited at the idea of creating a real bond between the player and the computer, regardless of whether its possible or not, so if thats something youre interested in we would be very happy to work with you :)
