Hi everyone. This is Tina. As the weeks have passed I want to - TopicsExpress

Hi everyone. This is Tina. As the weeks have passed I want to thank everyone for their support. This group is run by several people and all us have the same goal. I want to say that we have been focusing on the Schenectady PD and the City Attorney. Tonight is Friday and is the night we used to meet to go see the dogs and figure out who we could assist. There are 3 people who work within the large group of people who I feel really care about the animals and do the best they can within the system they are forced to work within. My time spent trying to help these dogs has also given me the opportunity to get to know many different people. While I stand firm that this place needs to be shut down if they cannot raise the standard of living for the time the dogs are forced to be there to include, human interaction, outside time to release frustration and energy, vet care when needed, a microchip scanner so families can be located, pictures and a website people can search for their dogs when missing, evaluations to help promote adoptability and a humane death when they are out of options. I also know as a whole we have stomped over the entire department. I would like to mention that Cindy the evening ACO, Brian B. her LT and Assistant Chief Falvo are the 3 people that we need to ensure stay involved with the dogs as they are the only ones who I feel care about them. I am speaking on behalf of myself only. This has been bothering me for a while and I need to clear my conscious by speaking out about them and them only. All others in my eyes are of no help. I betrayed trust and promises by exposing this facility and relationships were lost for me over this. Having said this I am still 100% behind the allegations made. This holding facility needs to remain just that and not a place where dogs should be forced to stay beyond 5-7 days. They also need to be treated humanely while there. There is going to be another peaceful protest on Monday at 4:30 prior to the counsel meeting. No one will be allowed to speak but we need people to attend! Please come if you are able. Also the meeting starts at 5:30 and I urge anyone who can come to please come to listen to what change they are working on. My goal is to never have to worry about going there again because they will be self sufficient and not need our intervention. We as a rescue are trying to recover from the enormous intake and medical debt we have incurred in the meantime from this facility. We cannot let up pressure for one second. We have Councilman Vince Riggi in our corner and Vince alone at this time and he is the minority in this group. The others are suspect but we will see. The mayor has not reached our nor has the police commissioner to date so that tells me they really are not in anyway trying to make changes. These are my personal opinions and feelings and I wanted to share them with everyone. I have also heard that people are saying that I have been kicked out of City Hall which is false. I am pretty sure I am not welcome at the facility but have not been officially told that. I say this because my Friday call has not come in and this has been the routine since last year. I needed to say my peace and felt this was the right place to say it. I also want everyone to know I am firmly AGAINST Victor and Tyson being euthanized as other safe options are available for them. I also do not feel they should be forced to stay in that facility for this extended time. There is also another dog Dakota that has been there since end of June which is torture for him. We must continue to speak out for these dogs!! I am holding out hope for Mondays meeting and the outcome of Tysons court appearance in 2 weeks. I am also hoping Dakota gets a fair chance too.
