Hi everyone This post is all about the organisation of our first day...which is next Monday, February 2. The plan is for all the students to gather in the Colleges main quadrangle on the first siren at 8:55am. Ill be saying a few word to the whole school and then the students will move into individual year group assemblies. Parents are welcome to attend this whole school assembly which should only run for about 15 minutes. At the year assemblies, the students will be introduced to their contact teacher and this completed, the students will then follow their contact teachers to their contact classroom for their timetables and other information. It is then the plan that students will commence their school day at period two. Year 7 students will be lead back to their area behind the Science block at the end of each period by their class teachers for the first couple of days and be picked up by their next teacher. This way, theyll get to know the College and shouldnt get lost between classes. There will be directions also given to the Year 8s should they have trouble finding their classes in the early days of the year. On the issue of the Year 7s, they will also have a dedicated area within the College which will be set aside solely for them at recess and lunch breaks. They will be able to wander the school should they wish to do so, but only they will be allowed into their dedicated area. Finally, I did push the button on a post about the changes to the buses this afternoon however it was lost when Facebook went offline. Ill re-post this tomorrow as I have the information at work.
