Hi everyone its Michele. I wanted to share our newest rescue with you. We were contacted by a wonderful volunteer for the local LA City Shelters. This little 6 week old kitten was at a high kill shelter with severe head trauma. I wasnt sure what to do, we are full and our vet bills have been over $35,000 since January 1st of this year. Well she was breaking my heart, all last night I thought about her, alone, scared, injured and blind. I couldnt let her stay there, I just couldnt, so I texted my amazing friend and volunteer for the shelter and told her to pull the kitty and get her to Milos vets at Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital. I spoke with one of the vets and am currently awaiting results of xrays and some other diagnostic tests, what we do know, they have her on pain medications. 1. Shes completely blind. 2. She has bite wounds all over her 3. Shes in pain and cannot walk on her back leg It is our educated conclusion that this angel was attacked by a dog and shaken like a ragdoll. Someone found her and brought her to the shelter, this cat was someones cat, whether it was the dog owners cat, a neighbors cat. We do know shes only 6 weeks old and now fighting for her life. I know the crew at the vets are doing all they can to save her life and heal her and I will be there to hold and kiss her, to comfort her and be her mom. The vet bills will probably be expensive but you cannot put a price on a life, Ive always believed that - we will raise the money to cover the vet bills. The important thing right now is this angel and getting her better and showing her what kittenhood she be about. We have named her Esmerelda as she is magical and perfect. Please keep our baby in your thoughts and prayers and remember we are having an online auction starting this Sunday all proceed will go to her, Puck, Oberon and Frodos vet bills.
