Hi family, friends, and neighbors. Another member of our community has been given the news no one ever wants to hear. Mary Monk, ( A. K. A. Marys Mini Mart.) has been diagnosed with cancer. I dont know the name of her cancer however, I have read her report, and, in my own words. it says; The cancer is inside the chest wall, extending into the lower left lobe of her lung, and in the nodes (Docs. word.) It has invaded her left shoulder blade, and has gone through 2 ribs on the left side. Mary has owned and operated her little store in Selma for 14 years. She has helped the members of our community in many ways. Now I come to you asking for help on Marys behalf. Some friends and I are having a benefit auction to help raise some of the money needed to help cover the medical bills that are quickly mounting. This will be a 2 day event. From 5:PM to 9:PM on Friday, April 4th and Saturday April 5th. This will be held across the street from Marys Mini Mart, Friday we will have live music, and dancing. Snacks, and drinks, will also be available to purchase. Saturday will also have live music, dancing, snacks, and drinks. At 6 pm items that are to be auctioned, will be available to view. Auction will begin at 6:30. Some of the items to be auctioned are: Budweiser Neon light. Budweiser camp chair. (both donated by Budweiser) 5 Dream catchers. (donated by a local crafter) and A Purse. (also donated by a local crafter) Things are just now starting to trickle in for the auction so as the list grows I will repost this with the updated list. If you would like to make a donation feel free to drop off item / items; at Marys Mini Mart. Redwood Hwy. Selma, If you would like your donation to be picked up please call ; 541-597-4417 between 11 :30 am and 6:30 pm to arrange a pick up time and date.
