Hi , for those who think the cpc might go away, someone sent me this artical today. Prosecution cases 2014 In 2014* so far 33 defendants have been referred to the magistrates court for prosecution where drivers have been found to be driving without either an initial or periodic qualification. These also include cases where we have also pursued the operator for permitting the driver offence. 25 of these cases have already been heard and the fines range from £500 to £60 (the level of fine dependants upon the defendants ability to pay hence the range) with costs ranging from £290 to £50. Of the 33 cases 8 have yet to be heard. There are a further 12 cases which have been referred to our prosecution team and are currently awaiting a hearing date. Prosecution cases prior to 2014 There were a further 32 defendants who were prosecuted for the same offence during 2013 (with one in 2012) with the largest fine received being £1000. * some of the offences were identified in 2013 but not dealt with until 2014 which accounts for apparent inconsistencies between reported offence from the roadside, fixed penalties and prosecutions. Further offences will not yet have processed.
