Hi guys- just a heads-up: I have a somewhat yucky-ish story that I need your thoughts on- so dont read if you dont want to! We have 3- 9,almost 8 and almost 5 months :) We have a large very wooded back garden and there is a rabbit warren there for sure- about 2 years ago Godiva (almost 8) brought a baby bunny to me- dead but no bite marks, nothing….so tonight she and Raphael (9) were in the back ..then I looked out through the deck door and a half rabbit was there- obviously dead - not bloodied at all- no tear or bite marks- literally torn at the hind leg joint and mid abdomen (sorry)- not bloody at all….so- after my pre requisite screams and yelps (yep, thats me) - my dear husband gathered it up and the two poodles came in - not a mark on them- nothing- no bloody marks- so: I have a few queries- I know dogs are carnivorous- I know they ahem an instinct- but- what are your thoughts? do you think one or both killed a rabbit and it ended up bisected??? The 9 yr old Spoo has really bad arthritis so isnt exactly agile…..or could they have found part of another animals kill? we do have coy-wolves in our area but usually by the colder weather..we also have owls, hawks, falcons…it could be possible maybe they dropped a part kill? it looked fresh but not bloody..anyway- I guess I am now obsessing on where the other half is! (ha!) and if/when itll turn up- all thoughts appreciated! thank you!
