Hi ladies happy new year :) My a dog was diagnosed at the end of November. She was put on 0.8mg fludrocortisone and 10mg prednisone daily. She is 105 pounds and an english mastiff. On december 11, her electrolytes were tested and came back perfect. On december 19 we went back to actually get her routine shots and the vet told us to ween her off the prednisone, so weve been giving 10 mg every other day along with the fludrocortisone daily. She told us she would work on adjusting the fludro for her weight. I want to know what we should do next to prevent another crisis. I think we should have another electrolyte test done within the next few days, but its like we have to call all the shots with her. I dont think the vet has seen too many cases of addisons and I dont think she knows how serious this science is. I told her about the low dose percorten and she said she would look into it also.
